  1. i believe around 1:30 am where ever you live

  2. Any time after midnight tonight, assuming it's clear, you should be able to see an increased number of meteors.  If you're a night owl and don't mind staying up late, though, you should really wait until the Moon sets.  The Moon creates a glare that will wash out many of the fainter meteors.

Find yourself a dark place far from security lights and set up a blanket or lawn chair so you can lie down or recline.  That'll save you a lot of neck strain.  The best thing to do is to face the northeast (find Cassiopeia, a W-shaped group of fairly bright stars, and use that as a reference).  While lying on your back or reclining, slowly sweep the skies back and forth.  You should see one meteor every few minutes, if viewing conditions are good.

I hope that helps.  Happy hunting!

  3. The sooner the better.  It gets dark enough about an hour after sunset.  That might be quarter to nine.  The Moon doesn't set until late.  I'd put my back to the Moon - that is face more or less North.  A reclining chair or a blanket to lie on helps.  Dress warm.  The show goes on all night, or as long as the weather holds.

The peak was last night.  But you should still be able to see some this weekend.

  4. Starting to get sparse, but the best time to see a Meteor Shower is between Midnight and Dawn.  Also, check to see when the moon sets locally as the Moon can interfere with seeing.  And of course, try to observe in a dark area...

  5. Peak is over - well for us in the U.S. anyway our best time to look was at around 2am local time. however if you can get out there tonight you may still catch a few.
