  1. Its best to start training them at age 1 with the bridle, reins, saddle, etc. But getting them on the track you should wait until they're 2 years of age.

  2. when they r 2

  3. Foals should start being trained as soon as they are born. They need to learn to wear a halter, be lead, move away from pressure such as from a hand, and generally to respect humans (not bite and kick). They also need to accept being groomed and having their hooves and mouth examined. Trust me, this is a lot easier with a young foal than trying to start this with a yearling or two year old!

A two year old can be introduced to the weight of a saddle and such things as lounging and line driving. Unless it is a racehorse, though, I would not try to do any riding until the horse is three years old. Even then, it should just be light riding until the horse is about four years old.

  4. When they are 2 years old is what they mean and this is only for saddle training. You shouldn't actually ride them until they are 2 and 1/2 to 3 years old. You can start halter training them and teaching them your touch and a few tricks to bond with them so they will learn faster when the saddle comes. It helps with trust. If the horse will be used for jumping, start teaching them to step over poles, If for dressage, start teaching ground commands, If for barrel racing, start just leding them around, etc. Also if it is for trails or pleasure, just teach them simple ground comands and lead out on the trail. Don't forget to teach them to back up, a very important thing to teach because a horse prefers not to. Hope this helped

For Racehorses, Age 2 is when they start racing but you can start training for sadde and bridle at 1 with long reins.
