When can ice catch on fire?

  1. I heard of this but the answer is not what I thought it would be. I went ice fishing for the first time about 3 years ago in northern Michigan.  I would have called you a liar if you told me that you could build a fire on top of the ice to keep warm. However you can do it. I also learned that you can drive a full size 4x4 truck out there. HERE'S A WARNING. Unless you know the ice and are very experienced in dealing with frozen lakes I recommend that you DO NOT try to either build a fire or drive your car out there. the ice we were on was over 2 feet thick and was solid. ice can still be thick but can have pockets of air and slush

  3. Totally, just make sure that the ice has been stepped upon by quails.
