  1. Hydrogen will cost either 3 times whatever the primary enrgy sources is as a fuel.  If you reform gasoline at $3.00/gallon, then the resulting H2 will cost $9.00 per gallon equivalent (energy basis).  A fuel cell is 2 times as efficient as an engine, so if a car design is 30 mpg, the H2 Fuel cell will record a 60 mpg.

  2. Ya know, it might take years for that to actually happen.  When there are enough of the hydrogen cars out there for the public to buy, they probably will be so expensive that the average American won't be able to afford them.  I mean look at the hybrid, I can't even afford one of those none the less a hydrogen vehicle.  Yeah it's a GREAT idea coming out with a hydrogen vehicle since the only emission is water.  That wont hurt anything at all but maybe we might get more rain than before but that will also help us out somewhat.

  3. I think the Honda FCX Clarity is what you can expect to see from hydrogen cars in the near future.  Extremely expensive, hardly anywhere to fuel it up, and not particularly environmentally friendly.

These are the roadblocks facing hydrogen cars, and the problem is electric cars are advancing more rapidly and are inherently more efficient.  Electric cars are the transportation of the future, not hydrogen.   See links below.

  4. I don't think it will happen. I think that the water that is the by-product will increase humidity.  It will cause a green house gas effect and the global warming people will stop them.

  5. ay, about 2050 at the soonest

  6. i believe this strategy is very great ,we must insist on ,but by given the hybrid technology ,our sientist easily will find that exact solution ,so didnt worry........................

  7. Not any time soon.  Gas companies don't want to build a distribution system which would cost billions if there are no cars to use it.  Car companies don't want to spend billions making cars with nowhere to refuel.

Did I mention it would cost billions to create the fuel distribution system and the car?  Unless the government helps pay for it you will be waiting a long time.  Of course they cant afford it either.

Dana is correct about the Honda.  They also lose a huge amount of money on each one too.  Its basically a research project for them and the extremely rich public is doing their testing.

  8. Within 10 years.  The cost of the hydrogen is hard to determine but it will probably be pretty inexpensive.  MPG doesn't really apply, as the hydrogen fuel cells are more like batteries than internal combustion engines.  You should be able to drive them for a long time without refueling.
