When can we touch the newborn kittens?

My cat had kittens on Monday, we petted them softly today, and she didn't mind at all. The kittens eyes are still closed all the time. When can we pick them up and play with them? When will they be able to see us? When will they be able to walk around? Any info would be great!

  1. You can pick them up but try not to overstimulate them by petting and moving them around. when they start to walk you can start petting and carring them around.

  2. If I were you, I'd leave them alone for about a week. it takes about a week or so for them to open their eyes and then u have to give them a day or 2 after they are open. the reason for this is because usually if you handle a newborn kitten, the mother won't recognize the scent of her own kittens so she will end up thinking that they aren't hers. Therefore, they would die without their mothers milk because she would end up leaving them and the kittens would have no food.
