When can you add baby chickens with older chickens?

  1. Your chickens should be a little full grown and able to take care of them self, so they do not have to worry about the baby's. About that time you can get baby chickens, but you need to have them secluded from the older ones till they start growing there feathers because there is good chance the older ones could kill them. You need to make sure the baby's can defend them self, and also have a place where they  run and hide from them.


  2. when they are fully feathered. (have no pin feathers left at all)

    when you go to introduce them leave the baby chickens in a cage, withing the bigger chickens area for a few weeks. that was the babies won't be pecked to death, and the adult chooks will get used to them.

    this is really important as they will be pecked, chickens are very dominant and will peck babies chicks to death.
