I went for a scan yesterday, I thought I was 6 weeks pregnant but was told I was 5 and a half weeks. There was a small foetal pole but no heart beat. I have to go back in two weeks for a repeat scan. I am very worried that there will be a problem.

  1. Sometimes it can be detected at 8 weeks, sometimes later.  Don't worry about not hearing it yet.  I didn't hear it until 10 weeks.

  2. you may be fine.  you can see them at 6-7 weeks.  I saw my babies' heart beats at 7 weeks, 0 days.

  3. you never know how things will turn out but i had a fetal pole and heart beat at 5 weeks and 3 days and again it was there ta 8 weeks.

everyone is different hun i know women who did not get a heart beat until 7 weeks and some women had a heart beat at 5 to 6 weeks

  4. Usually it can be detected around 10 weeks on average. But a lot of women are able to hear the heart beat a little sooner. I heard mine in the middle of my ninth week..fast, loud and strong!! I cried! dont worry you are still very early on.

  5. dont worry hunni, i didnt see my babies heartbeat until my 12 week scan and didnt hear it until my 20 week scan....everythings so tiny at the min, just relax and enjoy the prospect that ya gonna be a mammy....CONGRATULATIONS!! x*x

  6. you generally cant detect the heart rate till about 8 weeks which is why the first scan isn't usually done until 10 - 12 weeks.

  7. I couldn't HEAR the heart beat until 11 weeks. I SAW the little heart moving though around 6 weeks. So I would say your baby will be just fine! Congrats btw!!! ♥
