I tried googling it and got conflicting answers from 16-19. I live in the U.K. Does anyone know why there is an age limit, and if there is any limitations such as blood type?

  1. in Canada, 18.  Probably same in most countries.  They especially like type O, because it can match with any other blood type.

  2. Try searching "blood donations" in your area. Most sites should have donating guidelines. I know they do in the States. OR call. I've donated for 20+ years. Here, some blood types are more in demand. A person can donate whole blood every 8 weeks. Good luck. You also have to be 17 years old here.
