Iam 9 weeks 10 on monday. I went to the dr. today. It was my second apt since ive been prego. And she told me it was to early to hear the heartbeat? I thought you could hear it by now. Is she right or should I try to find a different dr? All they have done to me so far is a urine test, and a pap.

  1. My doctor was still hesitant when I was 15 weeks!  But I think it's between 10-12 weeks with a doppler.  It's the best sound in the world!  Until you hear baby's first cry!

  2. It depends on how much fat you have on your abdomen. I'm thin, and we heard my daughter's heartbeat externally at 9 weeks, which my doctor said is early. Most women should hear it by about 12 weeks, I think. I'm pregnant again, and going in at 9 weeks again. I'll ask them to try and hope we'll hear it. I don't think it's something to get a new doctor over, but if it's really bothering you, call them and tell them you want to give it a shot! Congrats on the pregnancy!

  3. In both of my pregnancies it was after 12 weeks before I heard the heartbeat... all pregnancies are different thought some people can hear them as early as 8 weeks.

  4. The heartbeat can be heard at 10 weeks.
