When can you start counting on when youre gonna have your period again?

Your cycle starts the first day of your period and you generally will ovulate 14 days before your next period.  That is, assuming your cycle is 28 days.  So if you start on August 1st (day 1), your next period will start on the 28-29th and you would ovulate on or around the 14th.
