When can you work?

I am curious when the earliest you can work at a job (any kind)My friends say in arizona at the movie theatre its at the age 14.

Well to work legally in the State of Arizona you can start work as young as 14, but only with a signed document from a parent or guardian. Anyone under the age of 16 is still a minor and is only allowed to work a certain amount of hours in a week and can only work after school hours. I worked for the city through a summer employment program they offer and was given a packet with all the information.
