  1. NO, you do not require a passport to cross the border into the US by land.   You require proof of citizenship (birth certificate, citizencard, or a passport)  and a form of picture ID such as a driver's license or other government issued ID card.

Passport requirments to cross by land do not take effect until 2009.

But if you do have a passport - use it - it's the best form of proof of citizenship and identification you can carry.

  2. Yes you do, border patrol will still want to see your paperwork.  They do not know if you are canadian just by looking at you.

  3. until June 2009 you can still cross the border with a drivers license and a birth certificate, after then you will need a passport

if flying you need a passport now

  4. Yes. You will need your passport and your information. Bring your traveling document. USA IS a country. And I think security has tighten up since they're afraid of...whatever they're afraid of...

  5. i think you only need one if you are traveling by air. If you are driving, you need a birth certificate and/or drivers license.
