  1. To keep this from happening you need to accelerate through impact.  If you slow down at all when u contact the ball it can result in a double hit.  Try moving the ball further back in your stance and have the shaft ahead of the ball, this will help u generate spin, and stop the double hit.

  2. Your not making a FULL follow through and most likely decelerating at impact, make sure you are set up right first ball just back of center and stance slightly open to target line hit down on it and FOLLOW through don't stop swinging till the club is at least as high as it was on the back swing if not higher

    good luck

  3. i've seen people do this many times and it's caused by de-acceleration through impact, flipping with the wrists or using a too lofted club during a shot that doesn't require it. keep the hands forward and accelerate through the ball.

    goodluck

  4. In order to keep this from happening you can do a couple of things.

    1) Never decelerate through your chip shot

    2) keep your ball in the middle to back part of your stance depending on the type of chip and keep your head still through contact.

    3) Dont take such a large follow through on the chip, as most chips dont require a huge follow through (exception: sand trap shots).

Finally, just concentrate on making solid contact with the ball and this will almost never happen.  The worse contact you make, the more likely bad things are going to happen.

  5. Not just ugly, but it counts as two strokes. Ouch.

    Accelerate through the ball.

  6. Keep your arms moving and chest rotating thru impact and well past it. You have to treat a short shot like you treat a bully.  Show it fear and it will eat you up!

  7. Chances are you are using your hands to push your clubhead at the ball....and then you shoulders rotate as an after thought

The correct technique is shoulder rotation only. Little or no hand action.

  8. Place the ball in the back of your stance when chipping and you will make contact with the ball first.  Don't get in the habit of looking up before you make contact.  Like they say in baseball, "Watch the ball."

  9. The club head is getting ahead of your hands.
