  1. There are other factors in selecting a broker other than commissions.

You have to be concerned about any activity or inactive fees,

    Safekeeping fees,

    Money transfer fees,

The manner how there trades are cleared, (self clearing or who do they clear through)

    Charges for confirmations and/or statements

Commission/fees are not always the best criteria for selecting a brokerage firm.   Concern should also be given to trading platforms, order routing, selling group participation, and offering full services/products.

However, if your are a small investor, or doing a very limited number of transactions, you are not really in the driver seat to expect the same services as a professional.

Remember, in many case you get what you pay for.

  2. Fee structure and check out their website to see how easy it is to use.  Call the help desk and ask a question about IRA.  See if you get a good answer.

  3. how much is the commission and is there any hidden fees ?

  4. Get the fee schedule, in addition to the commission schedule, and compare with other firms.

Check the online trading web site and compare.
