All of a sudden ,,,just today,, my BT home hub phone isnt working properly.

Whenever i use it to dial a number it just goes straight to a " dead line " signal.

When i use my mobile or landline phone to dial the home hub phone,,it automatically takes me to the" " leave a message " 1471 service.

So,,, it wont dial out and sounds dead,,and it doesnt ring and goes straight to voicemail if someone rings it ? ? ?

Its properly registered to the proper base and i have even re registered it all agian just in case,,,,,

Any ideas anyone,,,i cannot see a single reason why this phone is suddenly playing up when it was fine last time i used it ? ?

Any help would be very greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,,, kev

  1. you have a loop fault, take a phone to your master socket, unscrew the frontplate and put phone in test socket, if dial tone, check filters and phones by unpluggiing them one by one with front plate back on, if NDT ring your service provider, they will send out an engineer for free(unless youve had a power surge and have 240 mains kit plugged into your phone wiring)

  2. mine is doing the same.  the net went down earlier obviously its on now. I thought it was the phone cable so i went out and bought another one.  yes you guessed it still didn't work. put the old one back in and it worked. however the phone still doesn't. it could be a fault with BT. have you tried ringing their helpline?

  3. try re-configuring it,,it happens to mine often x
