When dancing do guys like to be looked at, at all times or is that staring them down?

I Ballroom dance, and I am short so I feel like I stare the guys down when I look up at them. Or do they like it when I am watching them?

You don't have to be wide eyed and staring,  but I advise you to look at them.  Partners need to be able communicate during their dance and also project a connection to the audience.  It is no fun to see two dancers look like they hate looking at each other.
