When did Gary Glitter go to prison in Vietnam?

Newly released Gray Glitter, ex pop star was imprisoned for a s*x offense involving two girls aged 11 and 10 years old.

The newspaper article said that he had served all of his sentence but did not say how long he was in prison or when he had been convicted. Can anyone enlighten me?
