  1. Florence is right in that there is a natural cycle of surface warming and cooling but do you mean when did humanity's influence begin to change it?

The most common answer would probably be when the industrial revolution reached its peak and 'pollution' became wide scale.  Also, Thomas Midgely Jr (1889-1944) solved the problem of 'knocking' in car engines by adding tetra-ethyl lead (TEL) to petrol; strangely, Midgely also invented chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) which destroy ozone, leading to the 'hole' we all know.

    Hope that helps,

  2. It is actually in the Democrat mind...

  3. Depends on your perspective.     It's been warming off and on since the last Ice Age - - there have been multi-century, intermittent warming and cooling phases.   The "Little Ice Age" ended in the 1800s, and we are emerging from it.

  4. After the last ice age. Cyclical heating and cooling of the planet. Happens every time.

  5. Al gore invented the internet

  6. Al Gore invented himself, nothing else.

Global warming was around before humans walked the planet. Not even Gore can take credit for that.

  7. I'm just waiting untill we can grow grapes again in the UK - like we did in the middle ages.

There is quite a lot of documented evidence that it was warmer then than now, and I don't think it was down to CO2 emissions then.

Plus - why is Greenland called Greenland if it's always been white?

  8. i'm convinced humans have been changing the climate slightly for millennia, but since we burned all this fossil fuel it has become noticeable. and i found this the other day, so its not just me thinking it

  9. right after to sun ignited

  10. That depends which warming event you're talking about.

Human effects have dominated the warming over the past 30 years.  They've also contributed to the warming event that started about 100 years ago.

Of course there have been many natural warming events prior to that, for example 12,000 years ago when the planet came out of the last ice age.

But probably the best answer to your question is that the current warming trend began about a century ago.

  11. You're right AlGore did invent Global Warming, right after he lost the 2000 election.

Where was Global Warming when he was Vice-President?

The last time we had a Global Climate Catastrophe was in the 80's when Ronald Reagan beat Jimmy Carter in a landslide. Back then we didn't have Global Warming, it was Global Cooling.

The climate on earth has been warming and cooling for billions of years..The temperature has not changed much in the last 100 years and not at all in the last ten.

I'm sick of the media ranting and raving about how hot it is outside...IT'S SUMMER, of course it is hot..it usually is this time of year.

  12. 100 years ago climate warming has been on an accelerating up ward trend Due to humans and the use of oil for the last 60 of those years.

Gore couldn't invent anything, he is really good at hiring speech writers

  13. A little over 4 billion years ago

  14. well technicly if you look at the temp. as fa back as you can and move up to now youl see that it always gets warmer before an iceage so technicaly we're going into an ice age. mabey in a million years it will be frozen. and I'm concerned about it but temp has only gone up 1 degree so its not as bad as you think

  15. The last ice age began it's 'end' 10,000 years ago.  Since then the sun has become warmer, melting glacial ice.  The man-made kind of global warming, on the other hand, hasn't started yet.

  16. Which cycle?  We've had thousands of warming cycles, followed by thousands of cooling cycles.  Funny how they somehow managed to start and end in the past without human participation isn't it?

But the best answer you're going to get is probably about 10-15 years ago.. when somebody realized "hey, I can make money if people think the world is going to be destroyed"

  17. Al Gore doesn't claim to have invented Global Warming, or even claim to have spent his life researching it. He just simply made a movie that explained in common terms what a group of scientists and other researchers have concluded from decades of study.

  18. As to me it was started at the Beginning of industrial revolution.
