My last period was on the 2nd Feb 08. We had unprotected s*x on the 8th but there was no ejaculation. I started using ovulation sticks on the 14th and they did not detect a surge. So even if there was a small amount of sperm released on the 8th, it wouldn't have lasted that long, would it? Anyway, we then had s*x again on the 16th and 17th Feb. By then I had stopped testing. My cycles were normally 32-34 days long. I am expecting in November. I think it was from the 16/17th. What do you think? Cheers

  1. with a 32 day cycle you should have ovulated on the 19th of February. So, yes it was the 16th and 17th that did it. And that would put your due date at or near November 10th. Congrats and good luck!

  2. Are you both stupid?

  3. I would guess the 16 would be the day you concieved... usually (for a normal cycle) about 14 days after the first day of your last period...

  4. About the best you can do is ASSUME that your luteal phase is normally 14 days long, and therefore you ovulated on about day 20 of your cycle.  So if LMP was Feb. 2nd, that means you should have ovulated close to Feb. 22nd, and therefore the baby dancing on 16th/17th likely did it... but you didn't concieve until I would say Feb. 20th - 22nd.

Your due date should be about Nov 12th.

    *** Edit ***

Note that since your cycles are normally 32-34 days long, all the assumptions that you ovulated on day 14 of your cycle are out the window, and therefore estimating due date based on LMP will be off by about a week.  On average, when a woman has a cycle longer than 28 days, she ovulates 14 days before the start of her expected next period.  In otherwords, the period from LMP to ovulation can vary tremendously (with 14 days being "normal").  But when your cycles are longer than 28 days, what stays consistant is the number of days from ovulation til menstation (which averages 14 days).  Now not every woman has 14 day luteal phases... that's just an average, just like 28 day cycles is "normal" or "average".  So without tracking BBT to determine exactly how long YOUR luteal phases are (for what ever the length exactly is usually doesn't vary by more than one day from month to month for a woman), the best you can do is assume that it's 14 days long (for the range is limited to something like 10 days on the low end, and still be able to get pregnant, to 17 days on the high end without concieving).

  5. Yes I think you ovulated around the 18th so having s*x on 16th and 17th would have done it in my opinion. Congratulations!!
