When did Seve Ballesteros turn pro?

Ballesteros turned pro in 1974 when he was 16-years-old, and was only 18 when finishing second to Jack Nicklaus in the Open at Royal Birkdale. His first major came with a win at the 1979 Open at Royal Lytham and St Annes - that victory coming despite Ballesteros hitting an errant tee shot into the car park on the 16th hole of the final round.
