Question:

When did baby start to laugh

I would just like to know at what age did your baby start laughing? My daughter went for her 4 month examination and the doctor was surprised when we told her that she isn't laughing yet. So now I'm the typical worried mother and don't know if Danielle is developing at a normal rate.

Thanks in advance

  1. My son is almost 7 weeks old and he's only laughed a few times so far..

I've heard him chuckle twice, and sometimes he'll coo and 'ah' so loud that it sounds like he's going to break into a rhythmic laughter.. but I still can't tell !

I wouldn't worry over your daughter at this point though, especially not since she's only 4 months. Like the poster said above me, 6 months is the typical marker for stepping stones like laughing, smiling, cooing and making lots of eye contact. If she doesn't start up by 6 months, then you may need to have her evaluated or checked out -- but there's really no reason to be concerned right now!

All babies develop differently and at different rates, so while your daughter may not be laughing well yet -- she may have already mastered another ability that other babies her age have yet to accomplish.

So don't worry.. they'll all get to where they need to be eventually! =)

    Good Luck <3

  2. Every baby develops at totally different rates....everybody was shocked at how early my daughter was smiling and laughing..it was around 3-4 weeks....and now she is screaming joyfully all day at 4months!! I worried that she was doing things too early..

If your doctor was that worried, i would have imagined him doing additional tests...otherwise everything is fine!

Dont worry and enjoy these 1st months..they go by soo quickly!!

  3. No Dont worry about this some time has to weight becasue the baby is not adjusted so be patient for this

  4. All babies develop differently....our little boy smiled at 5 weeks and was laughing around 8-10 weeks...loves laughing now (he's 13 weeks) if we entertain him enough!

Sit her on your knee facing you and lay down on a sofa...hold on to her hands and let her slide down your knees towards you...our little man loves this and gets great fun out of it!

  5. They typically smile within the first 6 weeks. But laughing, I would say 4 months is ok, but it should be happening soon!

  6. My daughter started laughing around 3 months.  But I wouldn't worry.  Every baby develops at their own rate.  I'm sure she'll be giggling away really soon!

  7. well you baby should laugh after about 1-2 months of age,

but i wouldnt worry if she isnt laughing at the moment, mayb she just isnt amused enough, it mite not be due to her developing rate so i wouldnt be too worried. If she doesnt laugh by 6 months then i would worry a bit.

Just try playing games with her like peek a boo or sumthing to get her active. try laughing around her aswell she my copy.
