Question:

When did drug testing become compulsory UFC policy?

Looking at footage back in the day, it's obvious there wasn't any anti-doping policy. Some of the fighters resembled body builders more than MMA athletes (in about 2001).

Is that why the sport is more stacked than ever? Because it's about genuine talent today and not muscleheads on anabolics.

Your thoughts?

  1. It always has, the old UFC days were usually guys who were just the biggest, toughest guys out there.  No real extensive training so it was probably guys who lifted and got in bar fights, thats why they look like all they did was lift

  2. When it became sanctioned by the Nevada state athletics commision.  Fighters still try to get away with it by doing cycles on and off. Its also rare to see a fight where it was clear that one fighter won because of strength alone, its usually about technique.

  3. Lol when didnt it
