  1. Have you tried looking on Google? He lived from 1889 to 1953. His work on discovering the expansion of the Universe was done in the early 1920's.

  2. Edwin Hubble was (in my opinion) one of the most influential astronomers of the 20th century.  He set the table for Einstein.  Of course, previous astronomers set the table for him, and the technology of the time in combination with the "previous knowledge" of the time has been important for all discoveries.  Sometimes I wonder, if Gallileo and Hubble were to have swapped places, would Hubble have seen the sattelites of Jupiter, and Gallileo observed the expansion of the universe.  Anyway, "JustAsk23" has the information right.  Wikipedia has more detailed information on what you are seeking.

  3. In 1922, he discovered that there were galaxies other than our own.

In 1929, he discovered the universe is expanding.  He discovered when the spectrum of light is shifted towards red, that the source of the light is heading away from us.

    That's all I know
