  1. depends on how umean understood

to understand pregnancy is to understand how sperm and ovaries work which can only be understood through looking in a microscope...so my guess is after the invention of the microscope

but humans have always understood aftrer s*x a baby is made and this happens through sperm ejaculation

different cultures and religions have different ways of how conception happens..IE christians believe its god that allows you to get pregnant etc.

  2. When we came out of the ice age. How do you think we exist today? They just figured they'd stick a few things together to see what happened and they discovered how to make babies? Ha.

  3. im sure they just understood it as a result of the female being "swollen" and engaging in s*x. there probably wasnt that much to understand u know

  4. This is probably unknowable (how do we know what was in people's heads before they had writing?)

But fertility statues are among the very early artworks.

  5. Even some primitive tribes of today are not quite sure...

I read of one tribe that believes that once the woman's belly starts to grow, that is the time to have more s*x, in order to feed the fetus the necessary s***n (food) to continue growing!

  6. Unlike all animals except possibly the dolphin we engage s*x only because of our urges, or sexual drive not necessarilly to reproduce. More intellegent creatures lack the  stronger instincts which other creatures need and act more on pleasure and selfish causes.
