  1. Rivera has pitched 3+ innings in a postseason game twice:

1995 ALDS Game 2 v. Seattle, 3.1 IP. Took the mound with two outs in the top of the 12th, struck out Buhner, pitched the 13th through the 15th, scoreless. Leyritz ended it in the bottom of the 15th with a 2-run walkoff HR, final Yankees 7 - Mariners 5. Rivera got the W. His first postseason game.

2003 ALCS Game 7 v. Boston, 3.0 IP. Entered the game for the top of the ninth, score tied 5-5. Pitched the 9th, 10th, 11th with little difficulty. Boone ended it with a solo HR in the bottom of the 11th, final Yankees 6 - Red Sox 5, winning the series 4-3. Rivera got the W.

His longest postseason appearance that resulted in a save was 2.0 IP, which he has done 12 times, most recently in the 2005 ALDS against the Angels.

  2. Rivera got a win in Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS. He was the pitcher of record when Aaron Boone hit the game-winning (and series-winning) home run. It was one of Rivera's best performances ever.

  3. In Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS, he pitched 3 innings for the win.

Aaron Boone hit a walk off home run to send the yankees to the world series. That's the best I can think of.

  4. I dont recall him doing that anytime recently...BUT if your a reliever and you do pitch the final three innings then you CAN get the save. Regardless of the score So it is possible

  5. i dont think so im pretty sure it would be a win not a save
