  1. Chemical testing on potter shows beer was first brewed between 8,000 and 10,000 years ago. Because of a lack of surviving documentation from the era it is near impossible for archaeologists to get a specific date.

    Wiki says 7,000 years ago, but I have books at home from more trusted sources that peg it at 10,000-ish.

    Mesopotamia is the cradle of civilization. The oldest evidence of modern man has been found in what is today known Iran and Iraq, but what was in times past know as Mesopotamia.
