One Yahoo/AnswerER said that sexual comments have become accepted behavior.

Maybe it's just my town...but I don't know ANYONE who appreciates lewd remarks (as opposed to respectful flirting).

So where is this acceptable?

  1. when you start school

  2. I think that it is generally not considered acceptable, but we are often made to feel that it is the norm through popular culture.  Perhaps because media that we are exposed to comes from a place where women are generally not treated with respect (Hollywood).

In real life, though?  I think that other than between friends, not many people would say it to someone they don't know well without being called a creep.

  3. girls like it...you know it.

  4. It depends on if you're being uptight vs. people just being down right disrespectful.

I'm not offended if someone says something like, "Oh, you have a nice a**.." Now if someone walks up and starts spankin it, yeah- that's a problem.

Age, too, is a factor. If you're surrounded by teenage boys- many havn't matured and think it's "cool" to speak like that (more to impress their boys) As they age, they learn that actin that way, doesn't get em any...

No lady appreciated lewd remarks and any smart man knows how to speak "The female language"

    Good Luck!

  5. Uh, it hasn't that I know of.  That being said, I do think some people have become more sensitive, or feel that they now have the ability to speak out against it.  I shrug off the stuff I hear.  It doesn't really bother me (of course, it doesn't endear them to me either).

If I let all the sexual comments I have gotten in the past bother me, I would never leave the house.  And also probably have some deep issues.

  6. at my job.

i work at mcdonald's and have never been sexually harassed so much in my life. almost all of my male co-workers and even a few of the managers make lewd comments to me and sexual advances.

at first i was astonished but after a while i grew accustom to the sexual remarks and realized that ALL the girls who work there put up with the same bullsh*t. i have learned to stave off unwanted attention.

  12. between a close knit group of friends MAYBE, sexual comments are still very inappropriate, shouldn't be used generally. North American society it is very common now so....

  13. They're not.  Its sexual harassment, same as leering or groping.  This is the verbal form.

  18. I do not appreciate any s*x comments from anyone...

s*x is very private thing & I respect my private life to the point that I refuse to discuss it with anyone.

Its a humiliation to my husband and to others. as many people do not like to hear it as well.

I would rather keep some personal things to myself & maybe coz I am a private person.
