When did the computerised mot start?

just curious to know that im a buying a bike with low miles and its a 2001 registered,however the owner has 2 mots missing from the years from 2005-2006 and 2006-2007.he says he did not mot because lack of use.ive been on the MOT website and did a history check but its only showing the mots which he currenly helds.(so maybe he is telling the truth) but thats only for computerised mots not the paper.

bike is an 2001 which gives it first mot in 2004, which he has in paper form.

i think is was about 2004 ,not all stations started at the same time.

around 2005,but tests were done a couple of years before that.
