When did the fire service become the fire and rescue?

What year was it that the United Kingdom Fire service changed to the Fire and Rescue service?

If they changed at different years or periods in different counties, what year did Lancashire's change?

Not everywhere in the united states is considered "fire and rescue."

A lot of states have simply "rescue" squads.

So there is no answer to this question.
