my nephew has one, and he is 3 .... so its probably about 2-3 years ago?

I got mine in the new format in Dec 05, my parents got theirs I think only about a year or 18 months before me & theirs was of the old type. Hope that is helpful!

It's amazing when you hold it up to the light the way your picture has been cut through in tiny little pin holes isn't it!
