  1. A child should be saying a few words by the age of 16 months. If not then you need to speak to your pediatrician. Or if there is ever a  loss of verbal skills. These are warning signs of autism. 1:150 kids are diagnosed with autism.

  2. Alyssa was 8 months and 1 week when she said 'dada'.

  3. My son said Dada for the first time July 31, three days after turning six months.

  4. My son first said DADA at 8 months (He was almost 3 months early so a little over 6 months corrected age)

  5. my brothers first words wher dada and he said it at four months and mama wen he was 9 months

  6. My first daughter said her first word at 8 months. My second said hers at 9 months. And I'm not talking about mama or dada..those were both around 6 months or so. My oldest first word was god da*n...thanks to her a***e uncle saying it all the time around her. and my youngest's first word was MINE.

  7. ALL BABIES ARE DIFFERENT, THEY GROW AND DEVELOPE DIFFERENTLY, SO I WOULDN'T COMPARE BABIES BECAUSE IF YOU DO YOU WILL JUST STRESS YOUR SELF OUT IF YOUR BABY DONT DO SOMETHING ANOTHER BABY DOES AT THE SAME AGE

  8. My friends son said Mama, mum, and ma when he was 3 months old which was about a month ago.  He doesn't know the connection of the words to his mother yet, but he is actually pretty advanced and in almost every way.  As for my baby, well I am due next wednesday so I am not sure lol.

  9. My daughter started babbling at around 6 months and said her first proper word at 11 months.

When babies first say mumumum, dadadada, babababa, etc, it's babbling and not actual words.

  10. "Da-Da" at 8.5 months. Then "Ma-Ma" at 9 months. Now she babbles Mama constantly! I love it!

  11. My baby seemed to babble almost from day one and he was making the sounds of mamma and all the b sounds by about 4 months but it was just random. He seemed to connect meaning with momma at about 7 months so we consider that his first word. He also said dadda and byebye and other sounds but I don't think he started to make much connection until about 9 months.

  12. my nephew's 1st word was "mine" and he said it at 10 months but she started cooing and babbeling at like 4months old

  13. At 7.5 months old my daughter said mama and then a day later said dada and then the same day said hi.  That was 2 weeks ago, and now she just tries and mock everything she hears.

  14. My son first word was Dada and he started saying it at 9 months. Many many more soon followed :)

    Good Luck & God Bless!

  15. at 5 months my son said Dada but i really didn't call it his first word because he didn't associate it with his father, at 7 months he started calling out to me and saying mama as he reached for me. Now at 1 year he says Dada, Mama, hi, doggie and kitty.

  16. My son was slow to talk.  He was around a year when he started learning words.  He's almost two now, and he's speaking in some sentences.
