When did we start using all these acronyms?

Like POTUS for the President, SCOTUS for the Supreme Court, etc. I personally think they're a little goofy.

  3. Well we are lazy Americans what do you expect. Just kidding.

    I think we use them because they are more affective and they take less time to say or type them and that is more efficient in the world of today where everything is fast fast fast.

  4. Yes they are stupid. I feel it is because everyone is getting lazy and always want a faster way of doing things, which isnt always the best

  5. I've never seen them before either, but they're pretty goofy. They're probably trying to make us more sophisticated.

  7. um...I've never heard of either. I've always known the acronym for president to be PRES; vice president to be VP, and so on.

  8. lol. its the age of instant gratification. everyone wants things done quicker and they want it now. and to do that, chop up the english language...add some silly shortenings and oila! there you have it....i personally think it makes us retarded..but who am i? eh...
