  1. Soon after they started feeding themselves with their fingers I gave them a spoon.  It usually got played with, but they got used to having it.  After a little while, they will want to try to use it.  The fingers always work better, but if it is there, the child will begin to use it.  Don't expect it to be used a lot.....but, they will get the hang of it when they are ready.

  2. just hand them a spoon and have them watch u eat with a spoon. when theyre ready theyll do it themself. but everyone learns at different time.s

  3. My kids are almost 20 months and they like to use a spoon.  They're not very good at it so halfway through the meal they give up and use their hands, but they like to have them.  The only time I don't give them a spoon or fork is if they're eating a sandwich or some other finger food.

  4. I gave them to my daughter around a year, but she it took around 6 months before she started using them a lot.

Sometimes she holds a spoon in one hand, picks up food with the other and places it on the spoon and then eats it.

  5. My middle child is 3 nd still eats with her fingers when she thinks I'm not looking.....
