When did you buy... ferret?

did you buy your first ferret how hard was it to get it?

My daughter wanted a ferret, she kept showing me ferret websites, pics, and printed off info to give me and leave around the house.  She also begged alot and made a lot of promises.  Everytime we went to the mall she dragged me into the pet store and had the salesperson bring the ferret out.  After holding the ferret a few times I gave in, she was adorable.  A month later I went and bought another one and surprised my kids, so that the 1st one would not be lonely.  They are both so much fun, gentle and entertaining.  The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is check on the "girls" and feed them.  We are now considering getting a third!

I had the coolest ferret when I was in jr high (a long time ago LOL!). His name was Scooter & he was awesome. We actually got him at a very small pet store (not a chain or puppy mill style that are so popular these days), so he was hand raised. He was litter box trained & would give you "kisses" on command. Unfortunately, our lab killed him after we had him a few years (out of the blue - it was weird), but any way, he was a great pet. I would highly recommend a ferret. They are so entertaining & smart!

I just bought my first one, parents had them before but not my own, the beginning of this month. If you go to pet co you can get one, they're about 130 if not on sale. She is the best, so cute and comical.

It wasn't hard at all to convince my parents since my mom suggested one because I wanted a pet. I had to pay for everything though, which really teaches you the value of your pet and money. These animals need lots of love and attention. They are not cheap. Expect to pay $500 just to get the supplies, cage, and your ferret home. Vet bill can cost anywhere from $50-$200 a year with NO emergencies. They need rabies and distemper shots.
