  1. put necessities on there, and put some things you would like to have. it is a wish list so you can put anything. you can put clothes, bottles, pacifiers, diapers, anything on there. i just did mine about a week ago, so it was about 1 month before my shower. but you can do it whenever you want to.  i invite just girls to mine but alot of people invite guys too. it all depends on what you want!

  2. I registered after I found out what s*x my baby was.  But, if you decide that you don't want to know, you can still register.  It really is up to you as to when you want to.  There is no proper time frame.  Register for whatever you want to register for because people will buy them.  I registered for stuff I didn't think anyone would buy and yet they did--little stuff included.  For my 2nd child, however, I had a boy, my first one was a girl, and I told my friends and family I wanted boy clothes, and diapers, wipes and formula.  After my daughter, I realized all the goodies I got were great, but it really boiled down to needing diapers, wipes and formula by the gross.  But, people still bought me massive amounts of stulff.  Face it, people just like to buy for a baby.  Have fun with it!

  3. I would start out by getting a book called Baby Bargains by Alan and Denise Fields. This will help you decide what you do and do not need. Once I had read that, I would register. We registered very early in the pregnancy, and then I would update it as I learned more and changed my mind over time. register for everything, and buy what you don't get. Some places offer you 10% off things on your register that you buy for yourself. I have heard that Target does this, but cannot confirm it for myself.

  4. at 17 weeks and EVERYTHING!!...lol

  5. I actually didn't make a registry. I always figured it was just nice if someone thought of me and my babies, so I never felt right doing it.

If you're going to, I would suggest you put in things that you will need. If you want to buy clothes yourself, don't add any to your list. Things like a high chair, diapers, a bathtub, swing, diaper pail, etc. are always good. Don't expect to get everything on your list. After all, it's ultimately your responsibility to provide everything your baby needs, not the baby shower guests.

I wanted my hubby to attend, but my friend wouldn't let him. I would ask your hunny what he would be comfortable with and go from there.

  6. I registered about 6-7 months when people started asking and I asked for anything I honestly wanted.  I just made sure to include all price ranges so no one felt as thought I was being too greedy or they couldn't afford a gift I liked! I got so many great things, some of which weren't even on my list!

Also, almost ALL stores will send out discount coupons for whatever wasn't purchased on your baby registry so register everywhere and just maybe list one or two on your baby shower invite! It's well worth it to get the discounts and save them for when you need them!

  7. Get a swing, hi-chair, pack and play, bedding, bouncy seat if you want.......I def used my swing and bouncy seat a lot..

  8. I think it is nice to have a co-ed shower, so that no one feels as though they are left out.  After all, this is yours and your partner's baby equally...so some of his buddies might want to celebrate too.  As for the registery, I would wait until about 6 months, when you start to get a feel for what you want and what you want to get yourself.  A stroller/carseat combo is a good pick, a bouncy seat, a swing, a diaper bag, bottles, formula or a pump, wipes, bath stuff, a bath tub, baby toys, diapers, socks, onesies, blankets, bedding, room decorations (if you want them) can all be put on the list.  But be aware that some people are going to get your clothes anyway.  Some of them might be ugly too.  The best thing is to put it on the child for ten minutes, take a cute picture for the giver, and take it to the local goodwill.  Good luck :)
