I thought i was quite lucky with this one, as i have still been quite little all over, but just had a huge bump. This morning i woke up and found my jeans and knickers don't fit lol!!.

Did anyone else just wake up and find they'd ballooned over night and at roughly how many weeks?

I am 36 weeks

  1. I gained my most weight towards the end of my pregnancy.

  2. Hi

Weight gain is an indicator of your baby's growth. The extra weight you gain during pregnancy provides nourishment to your growing baby and is also stored for breastfeeding your baby after delivery.

The majority of weight gain should occur in the second and third trimesters. On an average you may have an overall weight gain of 10-12 kg.

The average weight gain of around 10-12 kg can be physically attributed to:

      ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚€Â¢  Baby=3-4 kg

      ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚€Â¢  Placenta=0.5 kg

      ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚€Â¢  Amniotic fluid=1 kg

      ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚€Â¢  uterus =1 kg

      ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚€Â¢  Blood volume=1.5 kg

      ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚€Â¢  b*****s=0.5 kg

ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚€Â¢  Fat stores for breastfeeding=3.5 kg

      ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚€Â¢  Fluid retention=1.5 kg.

  3. I found I gained the most part during the trimester. For some reason, during those last 4 weeks, I didn't think my stomach could be getting bigger.

But then, of course, totally normal. The baby is at that last stage, baby getting bigger, baby on its way out.

    Good Luck with baby #3.

  4. I really noticed my weight gain jump at about 36 weeks as well. Before then my baby bump was so little... but I probably gained my last 12lbs from week 36 thru week 41....although I was still ALL BELLY!! Is this baby number 2 for you?? Congrats early!
