And why don't we all watch sunsets more often?

It happens with unfailing regularity, is spectacular & doesn't cost a penny...Why do we miss the most precious things which are for free?

  1. I love sunsets, I should watch more often, you're right :)

I saw the most amazing moon last week, it was huge and orange and just stunning.

Edit: Gorgeous photos from MB and Haz

  2. i honestly cant remember the last time i watched a sunset, but i will do it tonight now, cos your views are spot on and we do take the most precious and amazing thingsfor granted

  3. It takes hours and you have to find somewhere to watch the sun set. In a lot of towns and Cities you can't really see the sky anymore because of all the street lighting (I'll never understand why there are over a 100 lights on the road into my village, they could switch off half of them with no reduction in visibility) so you have to drive out into the country and when you get there it is surprisingly hard - even impossible - to find somewhere to stop and sit down.

And then there's the problem of all the weirdos who come out at sunset, there's a good well kept park near my home only 10 minutes walk away but after 7pm I'd probably have to bash a couple of heads before I could get some real peace and quiet.

  4. I love watching sunsets, but would prefer be out on top of a hill in a beautiful landscape, or walking along a windswept beach, rather than in a car!  I want to be in the scene, not looking at it through glass!

  5. People just don't have the time to just 'be' anymore, to sit and watch the sky.  One thing I love doing with my kids on a sunny day is to lie on the grass on our backs in the garden, and watch the clouds go by,  making up stories about the different shapes they make.

  6. I get a glimse of them through a bay door at work each night if I'm not too busy.

  7. We do this quite a bit! I'm a fan of anything that's free!

We are lucky and get lots of spectacular sunsets where we live..it's the best time to go for a walk along our beach, and this is what we see-

Add a portion of chips as well and I'm a happy bunny :-)

  8. I love sunsets!!

unfortunately, I live in london, so all i ever see is the building closest to me. the sun disappears 2 hours before it sets.

...and of course i dont have a car.

  9. That's a lovely thought Faith and yes it's free- who could paint the sunset as it really is!

    That's beautiful Haz!

  10. Because of what happened tp "Jacqueline" and "Kevin" in "Car Trouble", - inside "Gerald's E-type Jag. "Kevin" was going 'up', the sun was going down, "Jacqueline" was eagerly-anticipating what was about to take place - all 'locked' (*) and 'loaded' -  and; 'half the unthinkable' (*) occurred. On National Television! I would rather check into the Holiday Inn.

  11. I do.:)

I live near a place called Bloodyforeland where some of the most spectacular sunsets can be seen.I'll post a pic, back soon.

  12. I love doing that! Haven't done so in a while because of far too many clouds to even see the sun, never mind the sunset!

  13. My mum works 24/7 thats why people dont do it! My mum would if she could though. Dont take your life for granted. Hope i help. Sally x

  14. A few years ago, it was so peaceful, just letting the world go by,

brought back a nice memory thanks Faith...

  15. Wife and I do it quite often, we live in Cornwall by the sea so get some nice sunsets, I often make a hissing sound as the sun appears to go into the sea, wife still laughs every now and again at it.

  16. in cities there is so much pollution that i find it hard to go out and watch the sunset. but i do it often when i am in the countryside.

  17. I don't think I ever have - it's difficult to randomly go out and do that with the kids, and there's never been a bloke soppy enough to do it with me...

    Maybe one day eh??

  18. next week i will be at the beach,  i'm going to warch the sun set everyday.  can't wait.

  19. We do that a lot. Lovely pic, Faith.

  20. most people have the opinion tht when uv seen one sunset uv seen them all lol!
