Rational economic decision was buying a kettle to go on the gas hob instead of a new electric one, apparently this is more economical.  

Irrational economic decision was getting a new puppy, 3 dogs instead of 2 to feed and pay vets bills for. I don't care though as she is so cute.

I made an irrational economic decision last night when i kept feeding the slot machine money, thinking "I can win it back."  I think I'm starting to have a problem.  (Not even being a smart ***, I'm totally serious.)

I made a rational economic decision when I decided that going to school part time and working part time was ultimately better than working full time, because I would open new doors for myself with my education.
