  1. I moved her out of her crib as soon as I realized that I was pregnant again.  I did not want her to think that she was giving up her bed for the new baby.  She had been out of her bed for several months before the baby was born so she did not connect her move to a "big girl" bed with the baby using the crib.  She was 14 months old when she switched to a regular single bed and she loved being able to get into bed by herself.

  2. My son went into a toddler bed at 17 months, and into a big boy bed at 2. He did fine. It all depends on the kiddo though!

  3. We just put our 14 month old son in a twin bed.  He liked to move around a lot and would wake up at night.  He does really good now in his big boy bed.  Things to keep in mind when you buy a twin/double bed..... make sure it is either low to the ground or you buy bed rails.  A good idea at first is to put the mattress on the floor.  Also buy a baby gate to put up in there doorway, this way if they do wake up they can not leave the room.  I would definitely advice a big bed Cuz toddler beds don't last as long.

  4. As soon as he started trying to climb out of his crib.  And his crib converted to a toddler bed, so that's what we used.  :)  Good luck!

  5. I put all my children in toddler beds around the age of 18 months. They all did well with it but my first 2 were twins and they would get out of their own bed at night and sleep with the other one. Needless to say I soon after opted for a full size bed and they slept in it just great. My youngest just got put into his toddler bed and he does great with it. Much better than the twins. He doesn't get up at night and crawl in our bed which i thought would be a big problem. Its really your own preference. Personally I like the freedom of the toddler bed.

  6. My daughter was about 18months old when we switched her to a toddler bed. She kept climbing out of her crib so it was in her best interest to make the switch. We chose a toddler sleigh bed, that matched ours so that she would feel important and want to sleep on it. She transitioned really good and I remember the first morning after she slept in it, I went into her room and she was asleep with her feet on the floor, laying across bed on her tummy. It was the funniest thing. Good Luck!

  7. I did not move my daughter until she was a few months past 2yrs of age, and then it was to the toddler, at age 3 she went to a twin.

  8. I moved all 3 of my boys to a full bed when they were 14, 16, and 18 months.  They were climbing out and falling down.  Also, cribs have different height/weight limits.  My youngest just came out of a crib a few months ago and the height limit is only 36 inches.

  9. My son is over 2 and loves his crib, so why move him? I will move him either when I get pregnant again, he turns 3 or he tries to climb out successfully. ooh, also: I heard they give up naps when they switch to a bid kid bed...! :-(

  10. it depends on the child and their attitude and abilities.....when my oldest son was almost 2 i took him out of his crib, my neighbor put hers when he turned 1, and i jus put my 15month in one....both used toddler bed

  11. the American academy of pediatrics says not until they turn 3 years old.

knowing that information....i waited until my daughter turned 3 and put her in a toddler bed.

    good luck....................
