When did you star wearing make-up?

i'm 12 and everygirl at my school wears makeup my parents say i cant. they won't ven let me paint my nails w/o having a HUGE kaotic problem about it. what should i do?

ur parents are very protective or something if they dont even let u paint ur nails..kinda paranoid maybe

but i didnt start wearing lots of makeup till i turned 13 in 7th grade

before then i'd occasionaly wear a lil bit of eye shadow but hardly any or ever

i had that problem too, so i just explained to my parents that all the other girls in my grade were wearing makeup, and that it made me feel uncomfortable not being able to wear any. And that i don't expect them to let me wear a lot right at the beginning but that i would like to start wearing some stuff. and my parents told me i could wear eyeliner mascara eyeshadow lip gloss and a lil bit of blush so it worked : ) good luck.....................

wow, not even any nail polish?! woah. i started to pain my nails since like 2nd or 3rd grade or so. i never even considered nail polish make up.

i started to wear makeup in 8th grade. i know a lot of girls started in like 6th grade, and sometimes even 5th. and even when i was in 8th grade, i kept it pretty subtle. i put on eyeliner and a bit of eyeshadow. that's it.

now i wear eyeliner, eye shadow, and a lip stain regularly. i only put cover up and mascara on for special occasions.

don't wear makeup just cuz every other girl is wearing makeup. i know it's cliche, but do what feels right to you!

buy some barely noticeable lip gloss close to the shade of your lips, and show your parents that makeup doesn't have to be all showy and bright and out there!

Well I can understand about the make-up. Wait til you are 14 or 15. I'm 13 and I only wear eyeliner. I dont know why it's a problem to wear nail polish. I could wear nail polish when I was 4 lol. I asked my dad why parents get mad when teens come home with tatoos and piercings and he said because parents dont feel comfortable with their kids marking up their body. So thats why I think they wont let you.

I'm in middle school also and a lot of girls in my grade wear makeup... even though some of them look better without it. I don't because i think its too much work to put it on in the morning and my parents say if i want makeup i have to buy it myself. Maybe tell your parents that nail polish is not makeup and you think you're old enough to wear makeup.

I had just turned 12. if you want to i suggest you apply ur makeup in a school bathroom when you get there or on the bus and when ur not at school just put it on wherever ur parents arent with you and carrry a mirror and washclothe to wash  it off before ur see ur parents again. ask a friend to buy u makeup anf give her the money.

i was about 16 a little at a time never too much and became a cosmetician due to the fact it looked pretty kool.=)Take your mom shopping and stop at a nice beauty counter,she just may change her mind.Best of luck.

maybe you should show them that you are more responsible then they think. And then you can make a comprimise with them. such as you can paint your nails as longs as you dont wear black nail polish or any other bright color. You could also ask them if you could just wear eye shadow thats a natural color and maybe a little mascara on your top lashes. They might aprove and then you can slowly work them up to letting you wear more make-up thats what i did with my parents! and theyre fine with it now! Although im 14 so yea.

But your only 12 so i really wouldnt worry about it your probably naturally pretty anyway so maybe make-up could wait til your 13 or 14 like me.

Over protective parents usually crack when you talk to them in a soft smooth mellow voice and explain to them everything. Thet will talk to you and you can COMMUNICATE.

Well 1st you don't want to start an argument about makeup, its such a martial thing. Maybe asking her if you can go to the mall and have someone teach you, so that it looks natural. She may be afraid that your going to go ALL crazy, if you start now. I would discuss it with her in a mature matter, explain this is some of the things you would like to do. Call your local mall and find a clinique counter. Talk to one of the ladies and, ask if they will teach you if you make an opp. with them after school or something. Tell them you heard it was all complementary, (because it i)s and you would love to learn. Even if you cant by this will show your mom some of the things you would like to try and maybe, if she feels that drug store would be more sufficient for your age, explain that that's fine too! At least she will feel more confident that you know what your doing.  Keep your cool with her, and just try to explain everything even about how they will teach you! If she says not right away, tell her okay give her sometime to think about it.  Who knows you may do something great she may want to reward you in some way! patients is everything! I promise!

i understand you, I'm not really allowed to wear makeup. The only kind i can wear is a little eyeliner, and face powder, but not too much. Maybe your parents will compromise with you if you wear light makeup to start. Oh and I just turned 14.
