I am gonig into my 10th week of pregancy and have been sicker than a dog since week 6...oh its bad, meat is repulsing, fast food is nauseating and even TALKING about food kills me....my poor husband has been ordered to NEVER EVER EVER mention food...so what do I eat? Fruits, vegetables...all that good stuff....but I still get nauseated when I eat and nauseated when I don't eat...so I noticed that my appetite is slowly picking up...one step forward 2 steps back type of deal...so when did your appetite go from nauseating hungry, to just plane old, HUNGRY eating for two??? I am so ready to be done with this all day sickness....any thoughts?

  1. I started getting increased appetite at 5 1/2 weeks. However one weeks later I started experiencing nausea. I have learned that the "plainer" and more simple the food, the easier it is to digest. I eat cheese, fruit, some meats, and veggies and milk. I try not to eat anything processed because usually has alot of salt and that tends to upset my stomach to. If you learn what your body can handle eating , you should be fine. My nausea actually starts going away AFTER I eat. I think it is just a sign my baby is hungry for me. I am as far as you in pregnancy.  Good luck hun! =)

  2. More than likely it will end within the month.  Very likely it will get better pretty soon.  But you never had to eat for two at any point.  The baby needs some extra food, but nothing close to eating for two.

However, it might take much longer or it might not end until you have your baby.

I didn't have an appetite most of my pregnancy (except a few days or weeks in between)  I didn't gain much weight (20 pounds) and my baby was born healthy at 6 pounds 11 oz.  Once my baby was born, then my appetite returned in full force.  And because I was breastfeeding I could eat all that I wanted and I still lost all the baby weight quickly.

Try eating very small meals or snacks and just keep on doing what you are doing.  You will be fine, although it doesn't seem like it now.
