When did you start looking for childcare for your newborn?

We're expecting our first and though it's still early, I would like to know when a good time to look for child care is. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

i was looking for daycares when i was about 8 months pregnant, interviewing different places and things like that. My daughter was just born today! so she will be going to day care in about 7 weeks when i go back to work.

i was a bit crazy about this and i started looking for her daycare when she was still in the woomb 7 months . i went to a lot of places and saw a lot of daycare providers then fiannly chose 3 that i like best . two weeks  before her birth i knew who i wanted and we paid a deposit to held a spot for her . after 3 months of staying with e at home she was ready to go .during those 3 months i usually took her in to see how they will interact wih her in case i needed to change my mind or so .

A couple of weeks before the baby is born you will want to interview daycare places and/or babysitters and see which one you feel comfortable with so when baby is born and 6 weeks old you will have someone lined up.

I was advised by a bunch of people I worked with to start looking into daycare while I was still pregnant....  so that's what I did!  I was actually about 6 months pregnant when I went around to local daycare and talked to the directors and teachers and found a place that I felt the most comfortable with... I went back several times to check the place out while I was still pregnant and I took him there with me when he was about a month old (I was there to pay to secure my spot for when he started) to see how they acted around him.... He's been going there for almost a year now and he loves his teachers!!  I wish I could stay home with him but it's nice to know that he enjoys being there b/c unfortunately we don't have a choice!  Good luck!!
