  1. i wouldnt use fruit cocktail, it contains a lot of sugar. use real organic fruits that have natural sugar :)

  2. if it has pineapple in it I would wait until the child was very capable of chewing before swallowing... Pineapple can get stuck in the throat---Peaches, Pare, and Apples are relatively soft I would introduce them individually but not before 9 months (cooked chunks) any brand is okay but organic is best.

  3. Probably around 9 months.  Be sure to read the label and avoid anything in "light syrup".  Look for fruits that are packages "in its own juices" or "packed in pear juice."  At least you are giving them natural sugar and not added sugars.

  4. My concern with feeding a baby fruit cocktail from a can is the amount of sugar in it.  No little baby needs to ingest that much sugar.  It would be much better to give your child fresh fruit.  Depending on how old your baby is, you should cut all the fruit, especially grapes, into small pieces.

  5. how about real fruit instead of the fruit cocktail that is soaking in syrup??

If you can't get fresh for some reason, get frozen, or canned in its own juice, don't get the ones in light syrup.

  6. I use the del monte for kids that has less sugar in the syrup and vitamins added, can't remember what they call it but i think it is just del monte fruit cocktail for Kids.

  7. At age one.
