When did you start watching NASCAR?

just last year.

about 5 races before the chase.

before then i was completely against watching it.

i was totally into JUST the IRL..until there was a weekend there wasn't an irl race...& the only thing on was a nascar race. my mom & brother already were into nascar so they said i should at least try watching a race.

i did.

& now i absolutely LOVE nascar (& irl)

I started in 2005, but I know as much about the sport as a person thats watched it for 30 years. seriously, I know A LOT about NASCAR

I started in 1988 when ESPN would air the reruns of the previous years races before that weekends race.

This sounds really stupid and it will make me look like I have no national racing experience - the first race I ever saw was the 2nd race of the Chase - last year at Dover. 2007. 1 year ago. That's right, I never saw Jr. win the 500 live, or even saw Dale Sr. race.

I started watching NASCAR when I was a kid. My whole family is into all kinds of sports. I am 36 now! Go Kasey Kahne!!!!!! Number 9 rocks!!!!

I remember watching races with my dad as a kid and we even went to daytona when i was like 2, of course i dont remember that but by that it was in like the very early 80's, but i didnt become a fan until about 2000.

I started watching when my roommate my freshman year of college was a HUGE Jr. Fan and it rubbed off! So I started watching the fall of 2001.... It was a sad time in Nascar to start watching! But now I am a HUGE fan myself!

Daytona 500 of 1990.  My dad said pick a car and root for it, I liked the black #3.

1994. The Brickyard. Liked the Indy 500, was interested to see the stock cars race on it. Like someone else said, picked a car and stuck with it (black Goodwrench Chevy----Dale Earnhardt).Prior to that, I remember not liking Cale Yarborough. Kept up on it here and there

I saw my first race in 1977. I vaguely remember DW, AJ Foyt (my favorite at the time from Indy Car), and Buddy Baker.

When my radio career started in '89, I remember talking about the death of Robbie Moroso,  and names like Earnhardt, Wallace, Dale Jarrett and Niel Bonnett.

Became a Gordon fan around 1993 but never really followed that close.

Didn't get real serious about until last year. My whole family (wife and 2 kids) are into it.

I started around 1994 when Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt were the big two!  Gordon was up and coming and Dale was already the best driver on the circuit.

My parents took me to a race in Fontana and the road course in California. But I didnt understand at the time.

when Bobby Labonte won the championship in 2000 i believe. When Bobby left gibbs I switched to Tony. If Tony leaves gibbs I will turn to Kyle.

I watched it back in 95-99 a bit, til I met my first husband who was boring and thought it was "stupid" and just " a bunch of fast cars going around in a circle".  It was hard to watch races when we'd argue over it.

We got divorced in 2004 (lack of things in common - obviously!) and I picked it back up when I met my new hubby who has always been a NASCAR fan, and we've been watching it ever since.  We're both Jr. fans.... Gooooooo #88!

I always used to watch the Daytona 500 with my dad, but never really paid much attention to who was who.  The farthest back memory I have is when I think it was Sterling Marlin that got out of his car on the red flag to fix his fender.  When my dad died in 2002, I started watching because it reminded me of him.  I never thought I would get so hooked! I didn't know who to root for so I picked a rookie  Jimmie Johnson.  WOW TMI huh
