  1. It is such a hard decision deciding what kind of education you want your children to get isn't it?

As an educator myself, I recommend that you put your daughter in a child care facility as soon as possible!

Whether or not you decide to home school your child, pre-school/daycare is a good way for your child to get interaction with other children!

Generally, when children are home schooled, they do still participate in local home schooling clubs and activities.

I have worked with many different children; and the ones who have had no school experience (and by that I mean pre-school) are socially awkward and they have a huge separation anxiety.

Best of luck on whatever you decide to do!

  2. Well, my children are ages 10 years, 8 years, and almost 1 year and none of them have ever been to daycare, or even school for that matter-we homeschool.

Of course, what age to put them in such programs will be a personal decision and I suppose that it matters on what you want to get out of it.  For instance, if you are looking for a break for yourself, now would be a good time.  If the purpose is instruction, you can wait several years.

I have taught each of my children from birth, and they are all intelligent, well rounded individuals.  We have learned a lot, and had a lot of fun in doing so and look forward to continuing homeschool for a long time yet.  I highly recommend it.

If you do decide to homeschool, there is a category for it here at Yahoo! Answers under the Education and Reference tab.  I wish you the best!

  3. my daughter started pre-school at 4 and she loves it, but if she didn't I would have chose home schooling.

  4. My daughter started preschool at just past her 3rd birthday. (I went back to work part time at that point.)

Before that time she had participated in various toddler play-groups and activities at the YMCA.

  5. My kids went to Pre-K at 4 years old to prepare them socially for Kindergarten.

  6. My daughter started nursery in May she was 2 years and 10 months. The nursery wouldn't take her any earlier but believe if they had I would have sent her.

In the couple of months before she started she was obviously getting bored just being at home with me and her baby brother (I work from home so unfortunately I don't have as much time as I would like to keep her entertained). She started to become quite naughty and it just wasn't like her.

She's now back to her normal self I'm glad. She loves to do different things each day, see her little friends and take her lunch box with a snack in it like a big school girl. She also has a better bedtime routine now because I think they must wear her out. It's great.
