When did your baby start sitting up??

At what age did your baby start sitting up on their own?

I seem to remember my daughter started sitting up at about 6 months. My niece and nephew were about this age too, but babies do everything in their own time! I certainly wouldn't worry about it being a month or two either earlier or later :-)

my first was 6 months and last was 8 months,every baby is different

every baby is diff i wouldnt go buy what other baby have done and when dont worry your baby will do it when she is ready

My Son started when he was like 7 months

My Daughter did it when she was like 6 months

By 6 1/2 months he was sitting pretty well, but now even at 8 months he will occasionally tumble to one side if he gets tired or distracted by a toy.

I hadn't even really started practicing with my five and a half month old and we were over at my sister in laws house and I sat her up on the couch.  She was sitting there all by herself for a couple of minutes.  She fell backwards after awhile but I was completely amazed.  She has been sitting up ever since.  It totally depends on the child though.  Some babies are rearing to go and more independent then others.

My daughter sat at 5 1/2 months.

My son sat at 5 months.

Average age for learning to sit is 4-7 months  :)
