My daughter is almost 7 1/2 and she hasn't gotten her 6 year molars yet. She has been to the dentist recently and they are aware of this, they seemed slightly worried but didn't do anything. Should I be worried?

  1. You can always go to a second dentist for another opinion. Ask them to take xrays and then let them know also what the other dentist told you and that your normal dentist seemed concerned but didn't really tell you what (if anything ) could be done.

It never hurts to get a second opinion on things like this, especially if you are feeling anxious about it.  The other thing you could do is call the dentist you are using now and let them know that you saw them show cause for concern at your child's last appointment about this and you want to know what exactly can be recommended as treatment (if there is any) or what they plan to do if they don't come in within the next year. Don't take answers that you don't feel confident about as acceptable.  If they won't help you, it may be time to fire the dentist and go elsewhere.

  2. My son is also almost 7 1/2 and he has three of them so far but the fourth hasn't started coming in yet.  He got his first one when he was about 6 years 9 months old.

  3. they should have taken an xray, one child was 5 and the other 7 when they go them

  4. i got mine when i was 7 or 7 1/2.
