Question:

When did your child stop crying from accidents such as tripping, falling off a bike or from a cut/bruise?

Now we all know that when we were young and had younger kids, a 6 year old might fall of his bike and scrape his knee causing him to cry, or if his younger brother hits him and starts to cry.

What age did your son or daughter stop crying from scrapes, falling off bikes, or small injuries or even getting hit by siblings?

Thanks.

  1. around eight

  2. this sounds horrible, but the minute you start laughing, they start to laugh with you. my nephew used to fall alot when he was younger. if we freaked out and ran to him, hed cry. if we started laughing and clapping our hands, though still in pain, he would do the same.

  3. My daughter never really started because when those things would happen to her we wouldnt make a big fuss over it. We would either tell her she was fine and to get back up, laugh, or make it seem like she did something really cool. Like the first time she actually scraped her knee and had some blood i treated it like a huge mile marker for her. I said, "Wow! Look, its your very first bobo! Thats so cool! Now we can put a pretty princess band aid on it and you can show daddy when he gets home!" She thought it was the coolest thing ever and told everyone about her very first bobo! As parents we know when our children are REALLY hurt or if they are just whining for attention. When YOU stop treating every fall, trip, scrape and brouse like the end of the world, THEY will too!

  4. 21

  5. My 11 (almost 12) year old still does but nowhere near as often as he did when he was younger. My 8 year old still cries if he really hurts himself but less than his big brother (he's a lot tougher lol). So i'd say for the eldest, he was about 9 when he stopped doing it as much.

  6. Well, my daughter's 12 and still cries if it hurts bad enough. All that happens is that the definition of "small injury" gets gradually bigger.

  7. i was 7, m friends thought i was weird cause one day  fell of my bike and just started laughing.

  8. My son is 4 and he is tough as nails. He can fall off his bike or scrape his knee and he says I need a band aid or he says I'm ok. He really has to hurt before he cries and makes a fuss over things. He has walked away from things that I know I would have cried about!

He has a friend that is 8 and he cries at the drop of a hat. He won't even have a spot on him and he will be looking for his mom.

All kids are different. Its amazing to watch the differences.

  9. Never or when the quit getting hurt, which ever comes first.
