When did your daughter get her first period?

I have had the 'period' talk I think way ahead of time. What should I do to be prepared for us both? She is turning 11 in December. Am I worrying ahead of time?

  1. i got my period when i was 13

but my mom talked to me when i was 10 she started

  2. i got mine when i was 13.. and my teachers told me about it in 5th grade. No, its not too early. Its good to be prepared!

  3. i got mine when i was 12 but my sister got hers when she was 14..

  4. Talk to her about half a year before you started yours, and if she looks like she is going through puberty before that then talk to her then

  5. People, this is a stupid answer, that the daughter's period will come when the mother's period started!

Everyone has a unique body, that evolves differently! The period is not genetically! I got my period at 12-13 and my mum at 11, see?

Don't be so stressed! When it is the time it will happen! There is nothing to do "to prepare". Only to have some extra pads in the house, but don't freak your daughter worrying that she hasn't got a period! Lemme tell you my story:

I was very scared of having a period, but I had all the signs of puberty: big b*****s, axilar hair, pubial hair, hair on legs, everything, even discharges!

Although with all these signs which started at 10, only 3 years later I got my period, because of the stress of having it!

Belive me, I was so scared that my period came kinda late.

So, relax, take it easy, don't worry too much because your daughter will be worried too.

Hope I helped, and good luck!

    Cheers!

  6. at all depends on the girl..

i got mine in grade 5, so i would have been like.. 11 or 12.

and although i do not have a daughter, my friend got hers when she was 16. my mom got hers when she was 14. it all happens at different stages, i think you had "the talk" at just the right time, its important for her to know whats coming and that it could come anytime now.

i got the talk when i was 10 also, girls tend to be more mature than boys and can handle these "talks" better. but as long as shes prepared and knows whats coming, and you have all the supplies needed, then you'll both be fine with it when it comes!

    good luck!!

  7. when she was 12 yrs old

  8. in the 5th grade it was discussing in class

(just the girls they kicked the boys out)

and i think that was because one of the girls had started her period

collate when you and other family members all first got their period

this will give you an idea of when your daughter will start

  9. i can't answer the daughter part, but i got mine when i was 12, so 11 DEFINITELY is not too young.

i had friends who got there's when they were 8 and 9, so really it's good for her to know sooner rather than later.

i'm extremely grateful for knowing about it before it happened; it's a scary enough experience the first time, and that's when you know;  imagine how terrifying it would be to not know what's going on!

  10. I was 13

  11. My daughter was only 10, I let her find out for herself.

  12. 7 yrs old
