When did your little boy want take a big boy shower?

my son is 6 and he usually takes baths. but tonight...he told me he wanted to take a shower like mommy does. and i let him. and now he's so proud that he can take showers and wash his own hair. i felt weird the shower was going and my little 6 year old was in there just takin a shower like an adult! LOL. when did yours want to convert from bath to shower?

Isn't it the most bizarre feeling- like they are all grown up. I did the same thing with my Daughter, but now she has reverted back to baths. She turned 6 in April. Our tub stopper had broke and so I sorta forced her into taking a shower until we got the tub fixed and now she wants to take baths again and has no desires for that shower.

My kids don't like the shower. At the ages of 10, 8, and 6, I've made them shower a few times. The eldest needed to learn for an overnight at camp. Its not that big a deal, but I wanted her ok with it before she left. The other two I've had learn because on nights when they are nasty and we are very pressed for time, a shower is faster. My kids much prefer playing in the tub. Its really cute that your son is so tickled with himself!

My boys have showered since they were about 4 and 7. usually they are so incredibly dirty from playing that the bath water turns brown so I feel they get cleaner in the shower.  They are now 7 and 10 and just started doing it by themselves. They were supervised before now they turn the water on by themselves and everything.

My 5 year old takes a shower every now and then but I still have to go in and wash his hair for him. I know what you mean about them just being in there, taking a shower like a grown man LOL. It's so weird!!

My son was 6 too.  My mom let him do it at her house, and I was like "whaaaaat?".  But, all went well and he loves it! (he's 7 now)

My son will be 6 in August and he said he isn't ready yet but maybe soon.  My boyfriends kids started taking showers around age 6-7 and I know my exstepdaughter was taking showers when she was 4 years old, she just hated baths at that point.

3 1/2 mine became very very adamant about taking a shower like mommy and daddy.  He won't take a bath anymore and will be insistent and upset if you even suggest it.

right about that age for both of mine and I am SOOOOOO happy but I was scared the water would turn too hot for some reason and kept checking on him and he told me that I was embarrasing him and he needed privacy (he's 8 now) so I left him alot and he did everything by himself.
